1978 : Joins the Diplomatic Service, and attends the Diplomatic Institute
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

1979 : Secretary, General Directorate Cultural, Scientific and Technical Cooperation,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome

1981 : Second Secretary, Embassy of Italy in Seoul

1983 : Consul in London

1985 : First Secretary, Embassy of Italy in Moscow

1988 : Head of the Press Office of the Senate

1990 : Consul-General, Consulate-General of Italy in St. Petersburg

1995 : First Counsellor, Embassy of Italy in Paris

1998 : Head of Secretariat of the General Directorate for Development Cooperation,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome

1999 : Head of the Special Diplomatic Delegation in Baghdad with the rank of Ambassador

2004 : Promoted to the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary

2006 : Coordinator, “Task Force Iraq” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2009 : Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Australia (also accredited
to Fiji, Micronesia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu).
