Having launched their first collection in September last year, designers Gabrielle Thompson and Shannon Gunn's Italian-made label is being seen as amongst the most coveted in the market.
Having added an edge to their design since their 2008 debut, the 21-piece SS09 collection comprises a combination of powerful, attention-seeking towering heels, as well as some more demure flat styles.
Inspired by the colours of India, the SS09 collection draws additional inspiration from the vivid landscape of the Asian country, with a rich palette of magenta, deep purple, saffron yellow, anthracite and gunmetal grey, as well as shiny and matte black, grey, rich salmon and natural tones.
Designer Shannon Gunn said their second collection was more adventurous than the previous one with new colours which pop as well as some more muted tones.
"Our first collection was more conservative with simple yet elegant lines in classic and neutral tones. We thought we'd take it up a level and the result is a much larger collection which includes some sky-scraping heels which will define any look," Shannon said.
With individual styling, tomm gunn shoes are made in Italy using beautiful leathers sourced from some of the top Italian tanneries and suppliers to famed brands such as Costume National.
Pairing various textures across designs, the SS09 collection is comprised of a mixture of exotic python skins and Italian nappa, patent and pebbled leathers.
Having studied footwear design in Italy and with years of experience in the Australian fashion industry, the label was inspired by the strong desire from both young women to create the perfect shoe and having merged their passion, their namesake brand was born.
After moving to Italy in 2007 to create their first range, the designers now split their time between designing in Brisbane and creating the product in Italy as they continually source more materials to create their luxurious shoes.
Their collection may be viewed at 'L'Aperitivo' at Bella Cosi Restaurant, 22 Thomas Street, Chermside on Wednesday, 27th May at 5,30 p.m.
